Local Environmental Conditions
SUPCON Delingha 50MW project is located in high latitude region. It has high DNI, but it has the characteristics of cold, hypoxia, dry, windy and sandy, and large temperature difference between day and night.
Lessons Learned
· SUPCON Delingha 50MW CSP project has already achieved and exceeded its designed generation ahead of time.
· There are needs for optimal design of the conventional steam turbine generator system and BOP systems.
· 60% of the large CSP plants in China are tower CSP power plant, 28% of them are parabolic troughs, and 12% of them are Fresnel type, since most of high DNI regions in China are located in middle and high latitudes and tower type heliostats uses the dual axis tracking form, which lead to better cosine efficiency than parabolic trough with single axis tracking.

The generation data showed that the generation
variations between different seasons are small, which shows the advantages of
utilizing tower CSP power plant in high latitude region.
