Local Environmental Conditions

This project is located in the Calama, which is a city in the Atacama Desert, and one of the driest cities in the world with abundant solar energy.

Lessons Learned

·         This concentrated solar power plant uses molten salt technology and has the capacity of storing electricity for up to 18 hours allowing the power plant to provide energy 24 hours continuously.

·         The Cerro Dominador solar complex consists of the 110MW CSP plant and 100MW solar PV plant.
