Local Environmental Conditions
Hami is a city located in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China. Its environment and climate conditions are characterized by its location in a continental desert climate zone, which means it experiences distinct seasons with extremes in temperature and limited precipitation, but has abundant sun radiation.
Lessons Learned
The CEEC Hami Solar project is the first project using the
new STELLIO heliostats developed by MASERMIC and SBP Sonne. This new technology
can improve performance and efficiency of the solar field. The project also use 45000 pieces of electronic equipment for automation and
communication indicating the significance of robust electronic systems in
managing a large scale solar fields. The MASERMIC advanced control software
contributes to the smoother project operation by allowing integral management
of the solar field. The success of this project pave the way for the development of new solar power plants project in China.
